The Voice of Mongolia is the country's offical state broadcasting service in foreign languages. It broadcasts in English, Mongolian, Russian, Japanese and Chinese via shortwave transmitters and the internet for eight hours per day. The very first broadcast of "Radio Ulaanbaatar" was transmitted in 1964, the English service was launched one year after that. In 1997 the station was renamed "Voice of Mongolia".
